What’s New in Capture One 4.1.1
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Capture One 4.1.1 a Pro version?
No, Capture One 4.1.1 is a DB/LE hybrid.
Should I use 4.1.1?
Each end-user will need to make the determination of whether they should switch to Capture One 4.1.1. Due to the limited functionality of certain tools Capture One 4.1.1 will not be right for every shoot. Digital Transitions recommends staying with Capture One 3.7.8 for the majority of your shoots. However, Capture One 4.1 shouldn’t be ignored altogether. With 4.1.1, you will get a great insight to how Capture One 4.2 (Pro version) will look and feel. There are many excellent features in 4.1.1 and in certain cases we will recommend its use.
Can I tether my Canon Mark III (or any DSLR camera)?
Yes, via the hotfolder function. To activate a Hot Folder workflow, select the DSLR Capture folder in the Capture One 4.1.1 application. Add the folder to the Favorite Folders area and Set as Capture Folder from the File menu. With the folder still highlighted in the Library tools set, select the Hot Folder option from the Camera drop down menu. Images will now automatically update in Capture One 4.1 as they are captured in the DSLR application.
Are Sessions coming back?
Capture One 4.1.1 still uses the file navigation instead of Sessions. The Pro release will include Sessions.
Can I use my existing Capture One codes to use 4.1.1?
If you are using a Phase One digital back you don’t need an activation code to run the software. Just select Use Capture One Digital Back Only when the License dialog-box appears. In this mode there is no limitation to how many machines you install the software on.
If you are using the Hotfolder functionality with DSLR cameras you will need to use your existing Pro code. An Internet connection will be needed to activate. The Pro could can be used for both 3.7.x Pro and 4.1.1. You will not lose any activation.
